Autumn 2026 campaign

Software deadline: Sunday, 8 November — FCC-config#408

  • One Key4hep release, fixed once the campaign starts
    • If your datasets depend on a development which is not yet in Key4hep, add it to FCC-config#408
    • So far: HitPF objects in CLD, Delphes cards for CLD and ALLEGRO, RNTuple support, generator updates
  • Validation with the tagged nightly build until the release is available
    • source /cvmfs/sw-nightlies.hsf.org/key4hep/setup.sh --latest-tags
  • Dataset requests in the DRS at any time
  • Production planned to start in mid-November
    • Baseline: fast simulation with Delphes, full simulation with CLD
    • Please flag large productions as soon as possible

Configurations

Where they come from and where they are recorded

  • Reference repositories
    • FCC-config: generator cards, EDM4hep output cards for Delphes, detector concepts without their own repository
    • CLDConfig for CLD, ILDConfig for ILD
    • Delphes for the Delphes detector cards
  • Requesters can ask for a specific version, otherwise the campaign default is used
    • Campaign defaults still to be identified
  • Every production is recorded in FCCDIRAC: productions/<campaign>/DRS-<n>/attempt<k>/
    • Exact configuration and cards, readable on GitHub
  • DRS requester guide: generator settings and cards, detector configurations

MC contacts training

  • First training on 21 October, 11 attendees
    • DRS and DaMI roles granted
    • Productions failed because of a configuration problem on the grid
    • The problem is now fixed
  • Second training: Wednesday 11 November, 16:00–18:00, 13/3-005
    • Launching productions, hands-on
    • Publishing datasets in DaMI and discussion of the metadata fields
  • mc-productions-tutorials
    • Being made self-paced, so anyone can follow them
